For the last few months, we’ve been working with a hand selected group of brands — from billion-dollar companies to individual Etsy sellers – to find out exactly how and why PICT can be a valuable tool to their bottom line. And today, we’re excited to announce the result of that experience with the official release our private beta. Words can’t describe the gratitude we feel for their adoption of our product and their ongoing feedback.
For those of you who haven’t heard of PICT, PICT is a mobile and web application that allows brands to create content-rich, shoppable photos. These content-rich photos, or ‘PICTs’, are shared by brands to their social networks where they can then be shopped by the world. By integrating with a brand’s eCommerce platform, PICT enables simple product tagging and smart analytics. And these analytics allow brands to see which photos and products are generating the most revenue and driving the most engagement.
The features we’re releasing today include:
- A shiny new iPhone App - We’ve done a complete overhaul of our app to make it faster, smoother, and more responsive. And we’ve given it a full aesthetic makeover too, so it’s not just smart, it’s sexy too.
- PICT Photos are Shoppable *Inside* the Facebook News Feed - In the same manner that you can tag a friend in a Facebook photo then see that friend tagged within the Facebook news feed, PICT allow brands to tag their products in photos and let the world shop those photos from within their Facebook news feed.
- Expanded eCommerce Integrations - PICT is now integrated with Etsy, Shopify, Magento, Demandware and a host of other eCommerce platforms to allow for simple product tagging and insightful analytics.
Why private beta? We’re releasing PICT in private beta so that we can monitor the use and value of the product in a controlled fashion to ensure that it’s serving its purpose, regardless of the size of the brand using it or the systems it runs on.
